Active learning programmes

Our Active Learning Programmes offer children enriching opportunities to build physical confidence, coordination, and a love of movement.

Through engaging, play‑based sessions delivered by specialist providers, children develop essential motor skills, social skills, and overall wellbeing while having fun and staying active.

Playball New Zealand

Playball offers fun, high‑quality sports sessions designed to build children’s confidence, resilience, and enjoyment of being active. Each session introduces a wide range of fundamental sports skills—such as throwing, catching, kicking, balancing, and coordination—through engaging games and age‑appropriate challenges.

The programme focuses on:

  • Confidence and self‑esteem – Activities are structured to ensure every child experiences success, helping them feel capable and proud of their achievements.

  • Skill development – Children learn essential movement and ball skills that form the foundation for future sports participation.

  • Positive attitudes toward physical activity – Playful, encouraging sessions help children develop a lifelong love of being active.

  • Social and emotional growth – Team games and partner activities support cooperation, communication, and turn‑taking.

Playball coaches create a supportive, energetic environment where children can explore new skills, challenge themselves, and grow into confident, enthusiastic participants—both now and in the years ahead.

Jumping Beans

Jumping Beans is an energetic, play‑based programme designed to nurture children’s physical development and confidence. Through a mix of movement, music, games, and simple sports skills, children explore balance, coordination, strength, and body awareness in a fun and supportive environment.

The programme encourages:

  • Physical confidence – Children learn to move their bodies safely and skillfully through climbing, jumping, rolling, and balancing activities.

  • Social development – Group games and partner activities help build teamwork, cooperation, and turn‑taking.

  • Emotional wellbeing – Success‑based challenges support resilience, self‑esteem, and a positive sense of achievement.

  • Early learning skills – Listening, following instructions, and problem‑solving are woven naturally into each session.

Jumping Beans is delivered by trained facilitators who create a safe, engaging space where children can explore, take risks, and have fun while developing essential foundation skills for life.
